# Billing and Purchases

> Buy app items, manage monthly access, and understand your wallet and credits.

Some apps offer one-time items or paid monthly access. Elata handles checkout and keeps your purchase and access records on your account.

<Info>
  Paid features may be unavailable until configured for the deployment. Check [What's live](/overview/status) and the network shown at checkout. App items and app subscriptions use USDC on Base in this flow; testnet funds on another network cannot pay for them.
</Info>

## Find your billing settings

Open [Settings → Billing](https://app.elata.bio/settings/billing).

| Section | What you can do |
| - | - |
| [Purchases](https://app.elata.bio/settings/billing/purchases) | View the app items you own and return to their apps |
| [Subscriptions](https://app.elata.bio/settings/billing/subscriptions) | Review app access and choose periods to pay for |
| [History](https://app.elata.bio/settings/billing/history) | Review recorded product, subscription, and credit payments |
| [Wallet](https://app.elata.bio/settings/billing/wallet) | Check your account wallet, connected wallet, and credit balance |

## Buy an in-app item

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign in and choose the item">
    Open the app's available purchases or its own store. Check the item description and price. One-time items are permanent unlocks on the purchasing account, rather than spend-per-use consumables.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete Elata checkout">
    Connect or open the wallet requested by checkout. App items are paid from a wallet with enough USDC on Base. Confirm the requested payment actions and wait for settlement and recording.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use your purchase">
    After Elata confirms success, the app applies the unlock. You can find it again under **Billing → Purchases** and restore it by returning to the app on the same account.
  </Step>
</Steps>

An already-owned item should show an owned state instead of requiring another payment. If the benefit is missing, reopen the app on the purchasing account and check Purchases before trying checkout again.

## Subscribe to an app

An app with an active monthly plan shows its price and any available trial on its app page or locked play screen. An eligible free trial starts without a payment; paid access is managed in **Billing → Subscriptions**.

1. Use the app's subscription prompt for inline checkout when available, or open **Subscriptions** to manage your cart.
2. Select the offered period: current-month access, next-month access, or both when available.
3. Review the coverage dates and total in the cart. Several apps can be paid for together.
4. Complete checkout and wait for the periods to show as paid.

App subscription periods follow **calendar months in UTC**, rather than 30 days from purchase. Next-month access begins on the first of that month. When current-month access is offered, the cart shows its coverage and prorated price.

### Renew or stop renewing

There is **no autopay** for app subscriptions. Selecting an app for next month adds it to your cart; payment is still required.

To stop renewing, leave the next month unpaid. Unchecking an unpaid selection removes it from the cart. It does not cancel or refund a month you already purchased. Access continues through the paid coverage or trial end date, then expires unless another form of access applies.

## Google sign-in, wallets, and credits

Signing in identifies your Elata account. Completing a payment requires an active wallet capable of approving it. Google or email sign-in can use an embedded wallet. The current checkout attempts to restore that wallet automatically, so you do not need to bring an external crypto wallet just to sign in or begin checkout. You may still need to add USDC on Base. Follow the recovery or connection prompt if the account wallet cannot be restored; payment confirmation happens in the wallet's interface.

**Billing → Wallet** shows both your account wallet and your currently connected wallet. If they differ, check the account and wallet before paying. Wallet connection alone does not guarantee that a different payer can be verified for your account.

Credits cover supported metered features. Topping up credits does not fund your wallet's USDC balance or automatically pay an item or app subscription. [Points](/overview/points) are also a separate participation system.

## Payment problems and history

| State | What to do |
| - | - |
| Not signed in | Sign in to the account that should own the purchase |
| Account wallet restoring | Wait for the embedded wallet to restore; follow recovery if it fails |
| No usable payment wallet | Follow checkout's wallet connection prompt |
| Insufficient funds | Add USDC on Base to the paying wallet, then retry |
| Waiting for confirmation or recording | Keep checkout open while it finishes |
| Payment settled but access is missing | Save the transaction hash, check History and your access, and contact support before sending another payment |
| Checkout unavailable | The deployment may not have payments configured; check back or contact support |

History is a record of payments, not a refund or invoice portal. Product amounts marked **≈** are estimates using the item's current price; use the transaction record for the amount actually paid. A limited history may show only recent records.

For a billing problem, use [Help](/users/help) and include the app, item or period, purchasing account, transaction hash if available, and error shown. Do not share wallet secrets. These settings do not provide a self-service refund workflow.
