# Your Data

> What stays on your device, what apps and Elata keep, and how to access, export, or delete your data.

## The short version

* **Raw signals stay on your device.** Camera video, raw EEG, and raw heart signals are processed in your browser.
* **Apps never learn who you are.** They run in a sandbox and can't see your email, wallet, or account.
* **Sharing beyond an app is opt-in.** Only derived results, and only if you turn on the [biometric Score](/users/score-and-insights).
* **You can ask for your data or its deletion** at any time.

## What's kept, and where

| What | Where | Who can see it |
| - | - | - |
| Raw camera frames and biosignals | Nowhere: processed and discarded on your device | No one |
| Saves, settings, and scores an app stores | Your Elata account, separately for each app | You and that app only |
| Derived results for your Score (if you opt in) | Elata | You; apps you allow can read your own insights |
| Your profile, reviews, and comments | Elata | Public, as on any community site |
| Usage analytics | Elata | Elata; builders see only anonymized totals for their app |

Retention periods for usage data are listed in the
[privacy policy](https://elata.bio/privacy).

## Your choices

* **Camera and Bluetooth:** your browser asks before any app can use them. You can revoke access in your browser's site settings.
* **The Score:** turn sharing on or off at any time. See [Score and insights](/users/score-and-insights).
* **Reminders:** apps can only remind you through Elata, reminders are off until you allow them, and your choice is remembered per app.

## Access, export, and deletion

Under Elata's [privacy policy](https://elata.bio/privacy) you can ask to
access, correct, delete, export, or restrict your personal data. Email
[info@elata.bio](mailto:info@elata.bio) from the address on your account. The
policy commits to a response within 30 days.

Apps on Elata are built by independent developers. If an app links to its own
privacy terms, those apply to anything the app does outside Elata.

[Privacy and consent](/overview/privacy-and-consent) explains the design behind
these rules.
