What an Elata app is

An Elata app is a web app that responds to signals from your body: your pulse from a webcam, brain activity from an EEG headband, or heart rate from a headband’s optical sensor. You open it at app.elata.bio and play it in the browser. There’s nothing to install.

How apps get onto Elata

Anyone can build an app with the open-source Elata SDK. To publish it, a builder registers the app on Elata, uploads the build, and submits it for review. Every release goes through:
  1. Automatic checks when it’s uploaded: the right file layout, size limits, and use of the Elata SDK.
  2. An automated security scan of the code.
  3. A human moderator review against the submission policy.
Only approved releases are public. Builders can share a draft with a few playtesters before that.

How apps run safely

Each app runs in an isolated sandbox on its own web origin. That means:
  • The app can’t see who you are, your email, your wallet, or your Elata account.
  • It can ask for your camera or Bluetooth, and your browser asks you first.
  • When it needs something from Elata, like a purchase or saved progress, it sends a request and Elata handles it on your behalf.
  • Payment details never pass through the app.

What builders get

Builders don’t have to build accounts, payments, hosting, or storage. Elata provides: See What’s live for details, and the Build Apps tab to get started.
