What Elata is

Elata is a marketplace and an open-source toolkit for privacy-respecting biosignal apps: apps that respond to your heart rate, your brain activity, and other signals from your body.
  • Elata (app.elata.bio) is where people find and play these apps in the browser, and where builders publish them.
  • The Elata SDK is a set of open-source packages that turn a webcam or a consumer headband into a biosignal sensor, with processing that runs on the user’s own device.
  • Privacy is built in. Raw signals stay on the device. Anything shared beyond an app, such as the cross-app biometric Score, is opt-in and can be turned off.
You don’t need special hardware to start. Many apps work with an ordinary webcam. Apps that read brain activity use a consumer EEG headband such as Muse.
Elata apps are for wellness, games, learning, and research. They are not medical devices and don’t diagnose or treat any condition. See Safety and limitations.
