What it does

The Elata SDK is a set of open-source JavaScript packages for building apps on biosignals. It handles the hard parts:
  • Connecting to devices: a webcam, or a Bluetooth EEG headband such as Muse
  • Processing raw signals into usable measures: heart rate, heart-rate variability, EEG band powers, signal quality
  • Running on the device: the processing core is written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly, so it runs in the browser and raw data doesn’t have to go to a server
The SDK is free to use, published on npm, and developed in the open on GitHub.

Package families

“Experimental” packages are available as source code but not yet on npm. See What’s live.

Supported devices

Other headsets can be added through the SDK’s device contract. See Device integration.

You don’t have to publish on Elata

The SDK works in any web app. Publishing on Elata adds distribution, accounts, and payments, but the sensor packages don’t require it.
